Technical Skills:

  • Basic IT Knowledge: Familiarity with common hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Certifications: A+ Certification, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are great indicators of basic technical competency.
  • Operating Systems Knowledge: Experience with Windows, macOS, and possibly Linux environments.
  • Remote Troubleshooting Tools: Experience with tools like TeamViewer, Remote Desktop, or other remote management software.
  • Familiarity with Ticketing Systems: Understanding how to use platforms like ServiceNow, Zendesk, or Freshdesk

Soft Skills:

  • Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical people in a clear and patient manner.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Capacity to quickly identify and resolve issues or know when to escalate them.
  • Customer Service Mindset: Patience, empathy, and a willingness to help customers resolve their issues.
  • Time Management: Ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Other Qualifications:

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Willingness to work with other IT professionals, departments, and teams.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with learning new technologies and systems as they emerge.
  • Stress Tolerance: Ability to perform well in high-pressure environments, especially when handling difficult or frustrated users.
