For nearly the last 10 years, our vendor of choice for email filtering and security has been Proofpoint, a noted leader in the cybersecurity space. This relationship has been a good one, but it's time to say goodbye, for a handful of reasons.

  1. Proopoint's email filtering is second to none, but new vendors are doing things differently, and in many ways better. As the location of your data has migrated to the cloud and the ability for other users to send data directly to your cloud (bypassing email), we can no longer trust that scanning your email as the only ingress into your systems is enough. The new partner, Avanan, scans not only your email but also files in your various cloud locations, including Office 365 OneDrive, Office 365 SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, Citrix ShareFile, and Slack.
  2. For those of you who already use Avanan (check your Junk folder - if there are messages in there, you are already on that platform), even you get the benefits of this expanded partnership,  we have another integrated partner: SAAS Alerts. Any alert from Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Slack, or Dropbox can be immediately and automatically remediated. Alerts are sent to the security team for an immediate and comprehensive response to issues such as data theft, data-at-risk, or bad actors. This means if someone on your team logs in from an unexpected location, they will likely not be able to complete their login. Of course, the team can remedy this so long as someone approves this behavior. There is more to this, but it's all very technical and difficult to put into layman's terms. Just note that we will reach out in the event something is of concern. Both of these systems are managed by Blokworx, and they report to us, and us to them. We work as a cohesive team, where we manage you and your systems, and they keep your data safe.
  3. Proofpoint's email archiving is fantastic, and if you are a subscriber to their archive platform, that relationship will remain in place. While Avanan offers email archiving, it is not as easy to use or as robust as Proofpoint's offering.

With this change of vendors, you will notice a few changes; first, you'll no longer get a daily email letting you know what messages were prevented from your inbox; instead, those messages will be delivered to your Junk folder, and training the filter is done by dragging things into, or out of the Junk folder.

You will be happy to know that the Blokworx team is entirely based in the US, and their team consists of experts who focus on nothing but keeping your data and systems safe.

You can check out Blokworx's informational page about this service (SCUD+CDR) on their website.
