For the last several years, our vendor of choice for antivirus software has been MalwareBytes. This relationship has been a good one, but it's time to say goodbye, for a handful of reasons.
- One of the reasons for this change was entirely at the direction of Malwarebytes - they discontinued the service we relied on, and in place, introduced a plan that was quite a bit more expensive. Due to the price increase, we took this as an opportunity to explore other options for you, and I know we found a fantastic solution partner with Blokworx.
- The other reason for this change has to do with the threat landscape - attacks on computers, cloud services, and firewalls to organizations of all sizes are on the rise. We monitor several avenues for threat notification, including CISA's Cybersecurity Alerts & Advisories, the Center for Internet Security's Advisories, are a member of the FBI's Infragard program, and listen to weekly security-focused podcasts - all so you don't have to!
The service we moved to is called MAED+CRD. You can read Blokworx description of the service here, but if that is too technical, here is what it is in brief: Software is installed on your device that watches all of the little details - especially the little details like applications getting installed, processes starting unexpectedly, websites attempting to harm your data, etc. The watching part, though, never involves looking at your data - that is yours and yours alone - only the actions of the computer are watched. If something is not allowed by the basic ruleset, it gets shut down immediately. If it is untrusted, or blocked, the action will not be allowed. If it is unknown, it will be reported and further investigated and we will reach out to you for further information.
