Course Description

The four-day Directory Services Client/Server course is designed for system administrators and IT professionals who need to gain specific knowledge about directory services, how to  effectively configure Mac OS X computers to access directory services, and how to configure Mac OS X Server to provide directory services in a mixed-platform environment. This course is a combination of lecture and hands-on case study exercises that provide practical real-world experience.

Who should attend?

This class is for system administrators who are tasked with configuring computers running Mac OS X to access directory services and providing directory services in a multiplatform environment.

Prerequisites

Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending this course:
  • Completion of Mac OS X Support Essentials v10.4 and Mac OS X Server Essentials v10.4, or equivalent knowledge
  • Understanding of basic IP networking, including IP adress, subnet masks, ports, and protocols
  • Working familiarity with the command line interface
